Are you interested in working for an award-winning social care charity? Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within Enable by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants but what we can guarantee is that you will be supporting someone who requires support to achieve their goals and outcomes – whatever they may be!
Each person we support has different support requirements, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections. Enable creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing and aspirations of the people we support are met.
The Best in You Brings Out the Best in Me
The people we support have many varied interests and hobbies and have many of the same dreams and aspirations as we do; they just too often do not get the opportunity to experience these same opportunities. A career with Enable is as rewarding as it is diverse, Personal Assistants at their best have the potential to truly bring out the best in the people we support.
Let us introduce you to Arthur and Jonathon. We are housemates who live in our own home in the Barrhead area.
My name is Arthur. I am a quiet man and enjoy wildlife and nature. I like going out for drives in my car and going to parks. I also enjoy going out for something to eat. There are times when I like my own space and company, too. I want to try some new activities and would be looking for team members who will encourage me to try new things and support me to seek new opportunities. I want team members who have a calm and quiet nature, and who will take the time to know me well enough to be able to judge my mood. They will also need to respect my need for space. Ideally, I want team members who are drivers as I have my own Motability car.
My name is Jonathan. I love getting out and about and going drives in my car. I take great pride in my appearance, and I like to look good. I really enjoy loud music and bangs, and busy, bustling environments, I loved going to the Travis Concert. When I get the chance, I enjoy going for walks. I am looking to take up swimming again. I am sociable and love going to my local club. I want team members who would be happy to support me to go swimming. They would be motivated, with get up and go, and will support me to find new activities to try. I want team members who will make things happen. Ideally, I want team members who are drivers as I have my own Motability car and love to go out for drives in it.
We would expect you to take the time to get to know us, to listen to us, and work with us individually to ensure we get the most out of our support. A driving licence would be beneficial but is not essential to work with us.
