Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within Enable by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants but what we can guarantee is that you will be supporting someone with a learning disability to achieve their goals and outcomes – whatever they may be!
Example Responsibilities:
- Assist with personal care, moving and handling, and positive behavioural support.
- Expand social networks and connections.
- Support with medication administration, meal preparation and personal care tasks.
- Provide driving support where needed.
- Read non‑verbal cues and respond appropriately.
Individual Supported Persons:
- Neil is nonverbal; enjoys driving to parks, riding bikes, and watching movies; requires support with medication, meal preparation and personal care.
- James is quiet and non‑verbal; enjoys walks, sports, and art; requires support with sensory situations and emotional support; receives full training.
- Mary enjoys gardening, driving, and singing; requires support with medication, personal care and meal preparation; shift patterns are 12hr shifts from 8pm‑8am and waking nightshift.
Commitment and Values:
