Are you interested in working for an award‑winning social care charity? Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within Enable by making a positive difference every day in the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants, but what we can guarantee is that you will be supporting someone who requires help to achieve their goals and outcomes – whatever they may be.
Each person we support has different support requirements, so your role as a Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling, or positive behavioural support while expanding their social networks and connections. Enable creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing and aspirations of the people we support are met.
Let us introduce you to Simon: We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Personal Assistant to support a young man who enjoys being active and spending time out in his community. He loves going for walks, visiting local shops, and going to the gym. He also enjoys playing with his ball and relaxing at home watching his favourite YouTube videos. Simon is keen to take part in meaningful activities and continue developing important life skills that promote his independence and confidence. He prefers quieter environments and does not enjoy loud or crowded places, so support should be provided in a calm, patient, and understanding manner.
For this role you will:
- Build a positive and trusting relationship with Simon.
- Encourage his participation in activities he enjoys.
- Support him to achieve personal goals while ensuring he feels comfortable, valued, and included.
- Assist with personal care and mobility as required.
- Provide positive behavioural support and expand his social network.
That is why Simon needs you! Will you bring your best so that Simon can live his best life? If you think you share Simon’s interests and have the commitment, dedication, and desire to support him to get the most out of life, please apply now. Enable does not require experience in care to start your social care career; we recruit people based on their values and transferable skills. Wherever your journey has taken you, join us and together we will forge a new path in what could potentially be the most rewarding role you have ever had!
