Enable Scotland is a Scottish charity, working for an equal society for every person who has a learning disability. We were founded by five sets of parents of children with learning disabilities who believed their children had the same rights as everyone else. This belief continues today.
As the largest learning disability charity in Scotland, our members are the voice of our organization. We listen to them and act on the issues they find most important.
Every day we:
- End discrimination and break down barriers that prevent people with learning disabilities from living as equal members of society.
- Support families who have nowhere else to turn, and create more opportunities for people with learning disabilities to connect and be active in their communities.
- Provide opportunities for people with learning disabilities to develop their skills and live the life they choose.
Whether you, a family member, or someone you care for has a learning disability, we’re here for you. We’re here to listen, support, and help you speak up and be heard—wherever you are in Scotland.
