No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants but what we can guarantee is that you will be supporting someone who requires support to achieve their goals and outcomes – whatever they may be!
Each person we support has different support requirements, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections. Enable creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing and aspirations of the people we support are met.

Personal Assistants at their best have the potential to truly bring out the best in the people we support. You will be supporting a variety of people within their own homes with a variety of needs. You will support these people to enable them to live their life to the fullest. This includes potentially supporting with personal care, prompting and preparing meals, prompt of medication and most importantly just having a good chat. It will also include observation changes in health and ensuring these changes are recorded and escalated. It is a rewarding feeling leaving someone's house knowing you have supported them to start their day, supported them with a meal or helped them get ready for bed.

- Agnes lives in her own home with her son. She is a very sociable person and likes to be part of the community and regularly visits her friends. Agnes likes to be independent as much as possible but does require support with meal preparation, personal care and support with mobility.
- Keith has cerebral palsy and has a very outgoing personality and great sense of humour. He enjoys likeminded people and likes people who are chatty and like to have a laugh.
- Mark lives in his own home and enjoys attending a lunch club where he meets his friends and has a meal. Mark is very independent but does have dementia, which means he can become forgetful in his day to day life. He is quite a reserved man but if you can find something to talk about that he enjoys, he will openly converse on the topic.
