A leading UK construction and engineering specialist is expanding its pre‑construction function and is looking for four experienced Bid Leads to help secure a strong pipeline of complex, high‑profile projects. This is a role for someone who wants influence, visibility and the chance to work on bids that genuinely matter.
What you'll be responsible for:
- Owning bids from opportunity through to contract award
- Shaping bid strategy with pre‑construction and commercial teams
- Managing bid programmes, inputs, governance and budgets
- Coordinating high‑quality written submissions and client presentations
- Managing tender documentation, clarifications and risk registers
- Working closely with clients to understand expectations and win themes
- Pulling together technical, commercial, legal and supply‑chain content
- Leading tender settlements and handovers into delivery teams
What we're looking for:
- This role suits someone who is organised, credible and comfortable taking the lead.
- Proven experience in bid leadership or pre‑construction within construction or engineering
- Strong knowledge of the construction tendering process
- Ability to manage multiple bids without losing attention to detail
- Confident working with senior internal stakeholders and clients
- Strong written, organisational and presentation skills
- Comfortable working to deadlines and under pressure
- Good IT capability (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); estimating software exposure useful
- Degree or professional membership (RICS, CIOB, ICE, RIBA or similar) desirable
