My client are a long-established insurance brokerage based in the Croydon area. While they’ve retained their local, independent feel, they benefit from the scale, support, and resources of one of the UK’s most respected broking groups. The team, led by experienced professionals, manages a diverse and growing commercial book, primarily serving property owners but now expanding into more Commercial Combined business. My client offer a close-knit, friendly working environment where collaboration, professional development, and client service come first.
The Role
My client are looking for an experienced Senior Commercial Account Handler to join their busy and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 2+ years of commercial insurance experience, who enjoys variety, autonomy, and wants to be part of a business with real ambition. You’ll be managing a broad range of commercial clients, focusing on Property, Liability, CAR, PI, and Commercial Combined products. The clients are primarily SMEs, with premium levels typically ranging from £5,000 to £20,000 GWP.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of commercial clients across a variety of business sectors
- Handle all aspects of the client journey – including renewals, mid-term adjustments, and day-to-day servicing
- Work closely with our office manager and associate director to deliver a seamless client experience
- Liaise with insurers and underwriters to negotiate terms and secure best outcomes
- Use Acturis to process and manage policies
- Ensure all compliance and documentation standards are met
What We’re Looking For
- Ideally Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Commercial Account Handling role
- Solid knowledge of core commercial products including Property Owners, Liability, CAR, and PI
- Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail
- Confident communicator with excellent client service skills
- Experience using Acturis (preferred but not essential – training provided)
- Motivated, proactive and organised – someone who doesn’t need to be micromanaged
