The Role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Insurance Account Executive to join a fast-paced commercial broking team. You will take ownership of an established mid-market portfolio while also contributing to new business growth. This role is suited to someone with strong technical knowledge, excellent relationship-building skills and the confidence to manage clients across a range of sectors. This is a permanent position with hybrid working and the autonomy to manage your workload effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Account Management
- Manage and grow a portfolio of mid-market commercial clients across multiple industries
- Build strong and lasting client relationships through regular contact, reviews and tailored account development
- Conduct detailed fact-finds to assess client operations, exposures and insurance needs
- Prepare and present renewal strategies and market submissions
- Ensure documentation is accurate, compliant and delivered on time
- Negotiate competitive terms and cover enhancements with insurers
- Review and analyse policy wordings, endorsements and schedules
- Support the claims process and advocate for clients where needed
- Stay up to date with market trends, regulatory updates and product developments
- Identify new business opportunities through networking, referrals and cross-selling
- Prepare proposals and deliver presentations to prospective clients
- Work towards agreed targets for new business and retention
- Maintain accurate records in line with FCA and internal requirements
- Adhere to compliance, conduct risk and TCF principles
- Contribute to team-wide continuous improvement initiatives
Experience & Qualifications
- Ideally Minimum 5 years' commercial insurance experience, with at least 3 years in an Account Executive or Senior Handler role
- Strong understanding of mid-market commercial products and the broking lifecycle
- Proven experience in client management, negotiation and technical insurance work
- Ability to win, retain and develop business
- Cert CII / Dip CII desirable (or working towards)
- Excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills
- Self-motivated, target-driven and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
