We’re hiring a Customer Manager for our client, a profitable and growing property business transforming buildings into affordable, community-led homes. They currently manage more than 1,000 tenants across 150 properties, and this role will sit at the heart of the customer operation—leading the team, improving performance and ensuring a consistently high-quality experience from first enquiry through to move-out. This is not a traditional lettings role. They're looking beyond transactional property backgrounds for someone who understands how to lead customer-facing teams, manage a commercial pipeline and build smarter, more scalable processes.
The opportunity
- Leading, coaching and holding a customer-facing team accountable
- Driving occupancy and maintaining a strong pipeline of applicants
- Monitoring viewings, conversion rates and hard-to-fill spaces
- Owning customer onboarding, offboarding and communications
- Using KPIs, reporting and customer feedback to improve performance
- Improving CRM workflows and operational processes
- Acting as the escalation point for complex or sensitive customer situations
- Building positive, well-managed communities across the portfolio
Success will be measured through occupancy, response times, customer satisfaction, team performance and the quality of the overall customer journey.
What we’re looking for
- Direct experience managing and coaching a customer-facing team
- Strong commercial and pipeline-management capability
- A data-led approach to KPIs, conversion and performance
- Hands-on experience using CRM systems; HubSpot would be advantageous
- Experience improving workflows and operational processes
- Confidence handling escalations and difficult conversations
- A calm, practical and solutions-focused leadership style
- Experience within a high-volume customer environment
- Property experience is useful, but it is not essential. Strong candidates could come from hospitality, co-living, build-to-rent, flexible workspace, membership businesses, customer operations or other service-led environments.
The package
- £50,000–£55,000 salary
- Up to £10,000 discretionary performance bonus
- 25 days’ holiday plus your birthday off
- Additional holiday linked to service
- One-month paid sabbatical after five years
- Workplace Nursery Benefit
- Paid for membership
- Weekly yoga and regular events
- Pension contributions and team activities
