What You'll Be Doing:

As a Key Account Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in managing and expanding existing client relationships while identifying opportunities for growth. You’ll leverage your background in science, publishing, or marketing to provide a consultative, value-driven approach to client engagement connecting customers with effective solutions and ensuring long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow key client accounts, developing account plans and strengthening relationships at all organisational levels.
  • Present and communicate the company’s value proposition effectively to senior decision-makers.
  • Prospect and win new opportunities through a range of approaches including face-to-face meetings (international travel), virtual calls, and digital channels.
  • Maintain a robust sales pipeline, accurately forecast revenue, and consistently meet or exceed targets.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments such as Client Services and Editorial to maximise client satisfaction.
  • Keep detailed and accurate records within CRM systems including Salesforce and Monday.com.
  • Identify and act on upselling opportunities, feeding back market trends and client insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and meetings globally.

What They're Looking For:

Essential:

  • B2B sales experience in a consultative environment such as scientific publishing, marketing, events, or professional services.
  • Proven track record of achieving significant annual sales targets (c. £900k+).
  • Experience within or selling into the scientific or technical industries.
  • Demonstrated success in account planning and strategic relationship management.
  • Strong communication, storytelling, and negotiation skills.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office, CRM tools, and digital platforms.
