We are currently seeking an experienced Liability Claims Handler to join a well-established and highly respected claims operation based in Maidstone, handling a varied caseload of Employer’s Liability (EL), Public Liability (PL) and some Motor Liability claims. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced liability professional looking to manage complex claims within a collaborative and supportive environment, with flexibility through a hybrid working model.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of liability claims from cradle-to-grave, overseeing investigations, liability assessments, negotiation and settlement across a broad range of injury and property damage claims. The caseload will consist of approximately:

  • 60% Public Liability (PL)
  • 40% Employer’s Liability (EL)
  • Additional exposure to Motor Liability

You will handle claims from first notification through to conclusion, working closely with policyholders, insurers, brokers, solicitors and third parties to ensure claims are progressed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a portfolio of EL, PL and Motor Liability claims from inception through to settlement
  • Conducting detailed investigations into liability, causation and quantum
  • Handling both injury and property damage claims
  • Reviewing policy coverage and making liability decisions
  • Liaising with solicitors, insurers, brokers and third parties
  • Negotiating settlements and achieving fair customer outcomes
  • Maintaining accurate claim records and producing clear technical reports
  • Delivering excellent customer service whilst ensuring technical accuracy

About You

We are keen to speak with candidates who have:

  • Previous experience within Liability Claims Handling
  • Strong knowledge of Employer’s Liability and Public Liability claims
  • Experience handling claims cradle-to-grave
  • Exposure to motor liability claims would be advantageous
  • Strong investigative, negotiation and communication skills
  • The ability to manage a varied caseload in a fast-paced environment
