Private Client Associate Solicitor | 4–7 PQE in London

Are you a Private Client Solicitor looking to take the next step in your career with an established London practice?

Enable Recruitment is working on an opportunity for an experienced solicitor to join a Top 100 law firm and take responsibility for a varied private client caseload. You’ll advise individuals and families on their personal and financial affairs, building relationships that often continue across generations.

This role would suit someone who enjoys combining technical legal advice with the personal side of private client work. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your own practice, work alongside experienced colleagues and support clients with matters that are often both legally complex and personally significant.

The role

You’ll manage a range of private client matters, providing clear, tailored advice and taking responsibility for progressing files. Your work may include:

• Taking instructions and drafting wills that reflect clients’ family circumstances, assets and longer-term objectives.
• Advising on succession planning and the transfer of wealth between generations.
• Administering estates from initial instruction through to final distribution, including matters involving complex assets or family arrangements.
• Advising on inheritance tax and identifying relevant exemptions, reliefs and planning opportunities.
• Preparing and reviewing inheritance tax accounts and supporting documentation.
• Advising on the creation, administration and taxation of trusts.
• Preparing lasting powers of attorney and advising clients and families on capacity-related issues.
• Supporting executors, trustees and beneficiaries with their responsibilities and decisions.
• Working with accountants, financial advisers and other professionals to coordinate advice.
• Maintaining strong client relationships and identifying opportunities to develop the practice.

What we’re looking for

• A qualified solicitor with approximately 4–7 years’ PQE in private client law.
• Experience managing your own caseload and advising clients directly.
• Strong knowledge of wills, estate administration and inheritance tax.
• Experience of trusts and succession planning, with an interest in continuing to develop your technical expertise.
• The ability to explain complex issues clearly and build confidence with clients.
• A thoughtful approach to sensitive matters and a commitment to high standards of client care.
• Good drafting, organisation and financial management skills.
• An interest in developing relationships with clients and professional contacts.
