A demolition contractor operating across Central London is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of complex demolition projects. This is a permanent position offering long‑term stability, requiring a hands‑on Project Manager with strong leadership, technical understanding and proven experience managing demolition works from pre‑construction through to completion. The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget, while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full responsibility for the planning, management and delivery of demolition projects across Central London.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day site operations, ensuring works are carried out in accordance with programme requirements, method statements and contractual obligations.
  • Manage and coordinate site teams, subcontractors and specialist demolition contractors, ensuring labour, plant and materials are effectively resourced and controlled.
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations, including high‑risk demolition activities.
  • Review and approve risk assessments, method statements, demolition sequences and temporary works arrangements.
  • Manage project programmes, track progress against key milestones and implement corrective actions where required to maintain delivery targets.
  • Work closely with commercial teams to manage project costs, variations and financial performance, ensuring projects are delivered within agreed budgets.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, local authorities and other stakeholders, maintaining positive working relationships and resolving technical or logistical challenges as they arise.
  • Chair regular site meetings and progress reviews, providing clear reporting to senior management on programme, cost, risk and performance.
  • Oversee quality assurance processes, site inspections and handover documentation, ensuring works are completed to required standards.

Required Experience

  • Proven experience working as a Project Manager within the demolition sector.
  • Strong understanding of demolition methodologies, sequencing, temporary works and high‑risk activities in urban environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage demolition projects in Central London or similar constrained locations.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with experience managing site teams and subcontractors.
  • Sound knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements associated with demolition works.
  • Commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets and programmes.

Qualifications

  • Relevant construction or demolition‑related qualification preferred.
  • CSCS Card required.
  • SMSTS required.
  • Demolition‑specific training or qualifications advantageous.
