An established groundworks and civil engineering subcontractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of works at Port Talbot Port. This role offers the opportunity to work on a major industrial and infrastructure scheme involving significant groundworks and civil engineering packages.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of project works from procurement through to final account. The position would suit a Quantity Surveyor with previous experience working for a groundworks, civil engineering or infrastructure subcontractor who is looking to play a key role on a flagship project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing the commercial delivery of groundworks and civil engineering packages.
  • Preparing and submitting applications for payment and valuations.
  • Producing monthly CVRs and commercial reports.
  • Managing project costs, forecasts and cash flow.
  • Identifying, pricing and negotiating variations.
  • Procuring and managing subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Reviewing and agreeing subcontractor accounts.
  • Negotiating and agreeing final accounts.
  • Supporting operational teams with commercial and contractual advice.
  • Identifying commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
