This position would suit a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor with a strong background working for subcontractors within the groundworks sector, who is confident taking ownership of projects and working closely with operational teams on live sites.

The Role

You will play a key role in the commercial delivery of multiple groundworks schemes, supporting project teams from initial site mobilisation through to final account. Key duties will include:

  • Taking the commercial lead on groundworks projects, ensuring financial performance is controlled and delivered in line with expectations
  • Managing and administering variations, including pricing, negotiation, and agreement with clients
  • Preparing and submitting monthly valuations, ensuring timely certification and cash flow management
  • Producing monthly CVRs, analysing project performance and reporting back to senior management
  • Working closely with site teams to monitor costs, manage risk, and drive commercial efficiency across projects

About You

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a specialist groundworks subcontractor environment
  • Strong understanding of commercial processes on civils/groundworks projects
  • Confident managing variations, valuations, and full commercial reporting cycles
  • Able to work independently while supporting wider project delivery teams
  • Commercially aware, organised, and proactive in approach
