We’re working with a leading civil engineering contractor delivering long-term works across the Southern Water framework, looking to bring in a high-performing Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their commercial team. This is not a role for someone who needs hand-holding. They’re looking for a commercially sharp QS who understands how projects actually run and can add value from day one.
The Role:
- Full commercial management of water infrastructure projects
- Ownership of cost reporting, CVRs, forecasts and cash flow
- Managing subcontractor procurement, valuations and accounts
- Administration of NEC contracts (early warnings, compensation events, change control)
- Working closely with operational/site teams to drive performance
- Supporting commercial strategy and project delivery
What They’re Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civils / infrastructure
- Strong, working knowledge of NEC forms of contract (this is essential)
- Solid operational background – someone who understands site, not just spreadsheets
- Confident managing projects independently
- Commercially aware, proactive, and not afraid to challenge where needed
- Strong communication across delivery and client teams
Why This Role?
- Long-term secured work within the Southern Water framework
- Strong commercial leadership and structure already in place
- Hybrid working built on trust and output (not micromanagement)
- Opportunity to step into a role where you’ll genuinely influence project performance
If you’re a Quantity Surveyor who knows their numbers, understands NEC inside out, and can hold their own on site – this is one worth exploring.
