We are working with a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a busy portfolio of water and wastewater infrastructure projects across London. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of schemes ranging from £50k to £3m. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a stable contractor, gaining exposure across the full project lifecycle on essential infrastructure works.
The Role
You’ll be supporting the commercial management of multiple civils schemes, working closely with experienced Quantity Surveyors and operational teams. Key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with cost control and commercial reporting
- Preparing and supporting applications for payment
- Managing variations and change control
- Supporting subcontractor procurement and payments
- Carrying out site visits and measurements
- Maintaining accurate project records and forecasting
About You
- 1-2 years’ post-graduate experience in a Quantity Surveying / Assistant QS role within civil engineering or utilities
- Exposure to infrastructure works (groundworks, drainage, pipelines, or similar) beneficial
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Keen to learn and develop within a commercial team
- Full UK driving licence essential (projects across London)
