Job Overview
This is an 18-month Level 3 Information Communications Technician apprenticeship with Kingfisher Windows, delivered in partnership with Enable Futures. The role is full-time (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday) with flexible start and finish times around core working hours. Apprentices will earn £337 per week, including a travel allowance, while working towards an industry‑recognised qualification and completing an End Point Assessment (EPA).
Responsibilities
- Maintain, support, and improve IT systems across the business.
- Install and configure computers and devices.
- Manage user accounts and permissions.
- Support networks and servers.
- Maintain cybersecurity measures.
- Assist with system upgrades.
- Develop custom software solutions and reports.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies.
- Support audits.
- Contribute to technology‑related projects across the company.
Qualifications
- At least three GCSEs, including Maths and English at Grade 4 or above.
- Genuine interest in technology and strong problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication, calm under pressure, and keen attention to detail.
- Organised, motivated to learn new technical skills and take on responsibility.
Apprenticeship Details
The apprenticeship is an 18-month Level 3 Information Communications Technician program that will provide training on specialist industry software, troubleshooting technical issues, supporting staff with day‑to‑day IT needs, maintaining hardware and software, managing databases, and keeping business operations running efficiently and securely. Throughout the apprenticeship, the candidate will earn a travel allowance, work full‑time hours, and progress towards an industry‑recognised qualification and an End Point Assessment (EPA).
