Job Purpose:

Understanding our customer’s needs and the end-to-end handling of a product are the essential ingredients for designing packaging and brand solutions. Along with insights on consumer and industry trends, and knowledge of our trusted suppliers’ capabilities, we create packaging that is not only visually impactful but functionally efficient.
Working closely and collaboratively with teams across the business, the Junior Designer will be responsible for day-to-day Design activities to support client and corporate projects, and the delivery of tasks which form part of the overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gathering and analysing trend information.
- Creation and development of packaging, graphic and service design concepts.
- Present ideas clearly and confidently to internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare artwork and packaging files for print.
- Supplier liaison throughout development of new packaging and design solutions.
- In-house photography and image editing for client presentations, technical specifications and any other requirements.
- Support with application of designs across marketing collateral.
- Support with planning of customer presentations and creation of any supporting material required.
- Using in-house studio equipment, create printed packaging samples for customer meetings / presentations and exhibitions, as well as unprinted samples for checking functionality of newly developed concepts.

Person Specification (Knowledge and Skills):
- A degree in design discipline.
- Skills required in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. Knowledge in any other Adobe or 3D modelling / rendering software would be an asset.
- Strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise workload, multitask and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and an effective team player.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Knowledge of materials, print finishes, surface graphics and packaging print techniques would be an asset.
