At Emtec Energy, we’re delivering renewable energy solutions across Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage and grid connection projects, helping businesses move towards a more sustainable future. As our operations and maintenance portfolio continues to grow, we’re looking for a Maintenance Project Engineer to join the team based at our Head Office in Uddingston where you’ll support the successful delivery of Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contracts across commercial, industrial and utility-scale renewable energy assets.

The Role

As Maintenance Project Engineer, you’ll be responsible for supporting the day-to-day delivery of renewable energy O&M contracts, with a focus on Solar PV, Battery Storage and associated grid connection assets. You’ll work closely with clients, engineers, subcontractors, internal teams and third-party stakeholders to keep works moving, resolve issues quickly and ensure agreed KPIs, SLAs and compliance standards are met. The role will involve a mix of operational planning, technical coordination, client communication and commercial support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety, problem solving and taking ownership.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing planned and reactive maintenance works across renewable energy assets
  • Coordinating engineers, subcontractors, materials and site activity
  • Overseeing fault response, defect close-out and performance issues to minimise downtime
  • Supporting inspections, testing, inverter servicing, monitoring asset performance and compliance programmes
  • Ensuring all maintenance records, certification and documentation are completed on time
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients and supporting regular contract meetings
  • Preparing operational, technical, financial and KPI reports
  • Supporting budgets, cost tracking, variations and contract profitability
  • Promoting safe working practices and ensuring compliance with RAMS, CDM and company procedures
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement, contract growth and service expansion

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with experience in a project engineering, maintenance, construction, building services or renewable energy environment. Experience with industrial, commercial rooftop or utility-scale Solar PV would be a real advantage, but we’re also keen to hear from people with strong technical, maintenance or M&E backgrounds who are looking to develop within the renewable energy sector.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience managing or supporting maintenance, project or site-based works
  • A practical understanding of planning, scheduling and resource coordination
  • Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with clients and site teams
  • Good organisational skills with attention to detail
  • A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership
  • A strong focus on health, safety, quality and compliance
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Knowledge of Solar PV systems, monitoring platforms, electrical testing or scheduling software would be beneficial.
  • Relevant electrical qualifications such as City & Guilds / NVQ Level 2 or 3, 18th Edition, Testing & Inspection, IOSH / NEBOSH or equivalent would also be advantageous.
