Location: Uddingston

Emtec Utility Services is one of the UK’s fastest-growing Independent Connection Providers, delivering electrical infrastructure and network reinforcement projects that support the UK’s transition to Net Zero. We are looking for an experienced Electrical Operations Manager based at our Uddingston office to lead our electrical operations division and play a key role in the next stage of our development.

This is a senior opportunity for someone who combines strong experience within electrical utilities with operational leadership, commercial awareness and the ability to build lasting relationships with clients and delivery partners.

The Role

As Electrical Operations Manager, you’ll take responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of our contracted electrical works, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with client and industry standards. You’ll lead and support the wider team, work closely with our commercial colleagues and clients, and help identify opportunities to expand our reach and develop new routes to market.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading the end-to-end delivery of electrical projects.
  • Providing leadership, support and mentoring to the electrical operations team.
  • Working with existing and potential clients to develop relationships and support business growth.
  • Reviewing tenders before submission to ensure proposals are compliant and meet client requirements.
  • Ensuring constructed assets comply with relevant policies, procedures and technical standards.
  • Providing technical and procedural guidance to clients, contractors and project teams.
  • Producing clear work instructions and programmes covering technical and safety requirements.
  • Working closely with the commercial team to maximise project performance and profitability.
  • Maintaining strong communication with customers, contractors and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Overseeing the effective management of street works activities.
  • Providing regular project reports and programme updates.
  • Promoting a strong safety-first culture and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental requirements.

What We’re Looking For

  • We’re looking for an experienced operational leader with a strong background in electrical utilities, ideally with exposure to the renewable energy sector.
  • Proven experience in a senior operational role within electrical utilities, ICP or a similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical infrastructure projects, network connections and industry standards.
  • Experience leading and developing operational teams and contractors.
  • Strong commercial awareness with an understanding of project performance, profitability and risk.
  • Confident building relationships with clients, contractors and key stakeholders.
  • Experience reviewing tenders, technical requirements and project documentation.
  • Strong Health & Safety knowledge and a proactive, safety-first approach.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience within renewable energy would be advantageous.
