Emtec Building Services continues to see strong growth, with secured projects mobilising and a healthy pipeline ahead. As part of our commitment to maintaining a strong and experienced pre‑construction team, we are looking to appoint an Electrical Estimator / Senior Electrical Estimator to join us at our office in either Glasgow, Dundee or Edinburgh. This is a key commercial role, supporting business development across multi‑site and standalone projects, predominantly within the electrical domain with project values of up to £10M.

The Role
As Electrical Estimator, you’ll be instrumental in shaping competitive bids, supporting business development and tender activity by preparing accurate, commercially robust electrical estimates that underpin successful project delivery and sustainable growth. You’ll have the autonomy to shape bids, influence pricing strategy and work closely with senior stakeholders across the business.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Preparing detailed, electrical cost estimates within agreed timescales.
- Identifying and assessing commercial and technical risk within bids.
- Developing and maintaining a robust library of estimating outputs and pricing data.
- Assisting with bid preparation across the wider business when required.
- Acting as Bid Manager on tenders, depending on value and complexity.
- Leading and contributing to the preparation and submission of estimates and tenders.
- Applying your technical expertise to deliver accurate, high‑quality submissions.
- Bringing ideas and solutions to support ongoing business development activity.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in a similar Electrical Estimator role within an M&E / Building Services environment.
- Strong ability to produce accurate and detailed electrical services cost estimates.
- Confidence interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Solid knowledge of electrical installations and construction methods.
- Experience evaluating subcontractor and supplier bids.
- Ability to produce project budgets, cost plans, and tender breakdowns.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software (e.g. Trimble or similar).
