The Role
As an Estimator, you'll play an important part in securing new work by producing accurate, competitive and commercially sound tender submissions. Working closely with our design, commercial and operational teams, you'll review project requirements, prepare detailed costings and help develop practical solutions that meet both technical standards and client expectations.
What You'll Be Doing
- Preparing detailed take-offs and bills of quantities for tender opportunities.
- Producing accurate customer quotations and project costings.
- Completing quotation letters, PQQs and ITT submissions.
- Reviewing specifications and drawings for accuracy and buildability.
- Supporting the early design and development of potential contracts.
- Assisting with the planning and preparation of larger projects.
- Developing strong relationships with suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
- Working collaboratively with internal teams to produce high-quality tender submissions.
What We're Looking For
- Previous estimating experience, ideally within electrical utilities, infrastructure or a similar environment.
- A degree, HNC or equivalent qualification in a commercial or engineering discipline would be very beneficial.
- Experience using AutoCAD to produce design and as-fitted drawings.
- A good understanding of current DNO and INA regulations, codes of practice and legislative requirements.
- Confidence interpreting specifications and technical drawings.
- An understanding of contracts, conditions and associated obligations.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
