We’re looking for a Procurement Manager/Buyer to join our team in Uddingston. This opportunity has become available as our long-standing Procurement Manager is retiring. To support a seamless transition, there will be a handover period giving you the chance to learn the role and get to know our processes. This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with Contracts Managers, Quantity Surveyors, and Site Teams to ensure materials and plant are sourced on time, on budget, and in line with project needs.

You’ll play a key part in keeping projects running smoothly. You\’ll be securing urgent plant hire to planning ahead for major projects, always looking for value through smart sourcing and strong supplier relationships.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Procuring materials, plant, and services to meet project timescales and budgets
  • Supporting delivery teams by aligning procurement with programme demands
  • Developing strong, reliable relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Tracking procurement activity and flagging any delivery or quality issues
  • Stepping in to resolve urgent site procurement or delivery challenges
  • Exploring smarter ways to source, through bulk buys, performance-based deals, or innovation
  • Ensuring compliance with Group policies, approvals, and audit controls
  • Collaborating with Off-Site Manufacturing and other Group businesses to add value across the board

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be someone who thrives under pressure, stays organized, and builds strong working relationships both inside and outside the business. You’ll be hands-on, solution-focused, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities across live projects.

Essential

  • Proven experience in construction or M&E procurement
  • Strong commercial instincts and confident negotiation skills
  • Experience with site-based buying and plant/material procurement
  • Excellent communication and organization
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Dynamics NAV

It would be great if you have

  • Previous experience within an M&E contractor or building services environment
  • An understanding of subcontract procurement principles
