At Emtec Energy, we're helping businesses take control of their energy future through the design and delivery of large-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage projects as well as complex energy infrastructure schemes. We're playing a key role in the UK's transition to net zero.

As our project portfolio continues to grow, we're looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team and play a key role in ensuring our projects are delivered successfully from both a commercial and financial perspective.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you'll be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, helping to ensure projects are commercially robust, financially controlled and positioned for success. You'll work closely with Project Managers, Engineers and the wider commercial team, providing valuable insight, managing risk, protecting margins and supporting project delivery from award through to completion.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Managing project costs, valuations and overall commercial performance
  • Preparing and maintaining cash flow forecasts and cost/value reports (CVRs)
  • Supporting the administration of NEC contracts, including compensation events and change management
  • Preparing applications for payment and ensuring timely invoicing
  • Valuing and managing variations and additional works
  • Reviewing and authorising subcontractor applications and payments
  • Drafting and managing subcontract orders and purchase orders
  • Monitoring project forecasts and identifying commercial risks and opportunities
  • Building positive relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and project stakeholders
  • Working closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered within budget and programme
  • Maintaining accurate commercial records and project documentation

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who enjoys being close to projects, understands the importance of commercial control and takes pride in delivering high quality work. Whether you're already working within renewables or looking to bring your Quantity Surveying experience from construction, engineering, utilities or infrastructure into a fast-growing sector, we'd love to hear from you.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Experience in a Quantity Surveying role within renewable energy, construction, engineering or Infrastructure
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Experience preparing CVRs, forecasts and project cost reports
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial administration principles
  • Strong commercial awareness and financial management skills
  • Experience managing subcontractors and supplier relationships
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and commercial management systems
  • RICS accreditation, or working towards chartership, would be advantageous but is not essential.
