At Emtec Fire Systems, we’re offering an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Fire & Security Engineer to join our growing team in Glasgow and start their journey in a vital and in-demand industry.
The Role
As an Apprentice Fire & Security Engineer, you’ll learn the ropes of installing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of fire and security systems while working on live projects alongside qualified engineers. This is a hands-on role combined with structured learning, giving you the skills, confidence, and qualifications to build a long-term career. You’ll gain experience across systems including:
- Fire alarm systems
- CCTV
- Intruder alarms
- Access control systems
Alongside on-the-job training, you’ll attend college as part of your apprenticeship, working towards a recognised Fire & Security qualification, fully supported by the business.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assisting experienced engineers with installation, maintenance, and repair works
- Learning how to fault-find and test fire & security systems
- Working professionally on customer sites, following safety and quality standards
- Developing technical knowledge through college and workplace mentoring
- Building practical skills that set you up for long-term success
What We’re Looking For
- A genuine interest in engineering, technology or hands-on work
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Good communication skills and a professional approach
- Reliability, punctuality and pride in your work
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English are desirable
- A Full UK Driving licence is desirable (would be required to work towards gaining a UK driving licence when able to do so.)
