Emtec Fire Systems are a specialist contractor operating within the fire and security sector. We design, install, commission, and maintain a wide range of fire and security systems for clients across the UK. As our team continues to grow, we are looking to add an experienced Fire & Security Engineer to support our operations in Edinburgh and surrounding areas.

The Role

As a key member of our field-based engineering team, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of fire and security systems, along with maintenance and fault finding on existing setups. This is a mobile role with a company van provided, and while you will be primarily based in Edinburgh, there will be travel to Dundee and other sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation, maintenance, and fault diagnosis of fire alarms, intruder alarms, access control, and CCTV systems.
  • Deliver high standards of customer service and workmanship across all tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with fire safety legislation, health & safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
  • Complete all job-related paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and follow all site-specific safety procedures.
  • Take part in the on-call rota as required.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience working with fire and security systems in a similar role.
  • Strong technical knowledge across Intruder, Fire, CCTV, and Access Control systems.
  • Knowledge of networks and I.P systems would be a big plus.
  • Sound understanding of fire safety legislation and industry best practices.
  • Well-organised with good attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional approach to customer service.
  • Proactive and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • A full UK driving licence is essential.
