Sauter Off-site Manufacturing, part of the Sauter Group of companies, provides clients with an efficient and cost-effective alternative to traditional on-site production and assembly. From our Coatbridge facility, we manufacture off-site solutions for building services projects throughout the UK.
We’re looking for an experienced Production Manager to join our team and take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of our manufacturing facility.
Working closely with the Off-site Manufacturing Manager and our Digital and Technical teams, you’ll play a key role in ensuring production runs safely and efficiently, projects stay on programme and our teams have everything they need to deliver a high-quality product.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading day-to-day production, coordinating people, materials and resources to meet programme requirements.
- Planning workloads and production activities to maximise efficiency and keep projects on schedule.
- Leading and supporting the production team, maintaining high standards of performance, safety and quality.
- Working closely with Digital, Design, Project and Commercial teams from design through manufacture to delivery.
- Monitoring progress, resolving production issues and identifying potential risks or bottlenecks early.
- Managing materials, equipment and subcontracted activities to support production requirements.
- Driving continuous improvement across productivity, quality and manufacturing processes.
- Ensuring finished products meet client requirements, specifications and relevant industry standards.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience within steel fabrication, mechanical engineering, building services or a related manufacturing environment.
- A mechanical/HVAC background, with a good understanding of mechanical schematics and pipework systems.
- Strong production planning, organisation and resource management skills.
- A good understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes.
- Strong health & safety and quality awareness.
- The ability to work effectively with technical, project and commercial teams.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to keeping production moving.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
- A full UK driving licence.
It Would Be Great If You Also Have
- Experience within Off-Site Manufacturing (OSM) or building services modularisation, including plant skids, service modules or plant/energy centres.
- Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC) experience or welding coordination knowledge.
- AutoCAD experience.
- An understanding of structural steelwork, loads and calculations.
- Estimating or commercial experience.
