At Emtec Energy, we deliver Solar PV, Battery Storage and smart energy solutions across the UK. With a strong pipeline of secured projects, we are looking for a talented Design Engineer with Solar experience to join our team at our head office in Uddingston. Part of the wider Emtec Group, we support the UK's journey to Net Zero by designing and delivering technically robust and commercially viable renewable energy projects from early concept through to successful delivery.
The Role
In this role you will produce quotations and deliver pre-installation design services across Solar PV, Battery Storage and Energy Monitoring projects. Working closely with sales, commercial and delivery teams, you will ensure designs are efficient, cost effective and fully compliant, supporting successful project delivery from enquiry through to commissioning.
What You Will Do
- Produce PV designs, yield forecasts and financial projections
- Prepare accurate quotations and cost estimates
- Create technical drawings and specifications using AutoCAD
- Complete G99/G100 grid applications and planning submissions
- Generate cable calculations (e.g. Trimble, ElectricalOM)
- Support projects throughout the full lifecycle
- Build strong relationships with DNOs, suppliers and internal teams
