We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Heating Engineer to join our engineering team at Emtec Climate Solutions. This is a field-based role delivering reactive, service and planned maintenance works to commercial and industrial customers across the North West. You’ll work on boilers, heaters and oil-fired heating systems, taking jobs from diagnosis through to completion. The role suits engineers who are confident working independently, enjoy fault finding, and want to work for a business that values quality, organisation and doing the job properly.
Location and working pattern:
- Service and maintenance work is primarily carried out across Manchester, Liverpool, Warrington, Widnes and Wigan.
- As the business continues to grow, the service area may expand gradually over time.
- Service jobs typically last between 1 day and 1 week, depending on scope.
- Reactive work usually involves 2-3 jobs per day and is weather dependent.
- Overnight stays are rare, typically 2-3 times per year.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Attending reactive call outs and breakdowns
- Fault finding and repairing commercial boilers, heaters and oil-fired systems
- Completing servicing, PPM and compliance works
- Carrying out minor electrical checks as part of heating diagnostics
- Managing your own workload on site, including spares and job delivery
- Communicating clearly with customers and internal teams
- Working safely in line with RAMS, permits and company procedures
Experience - What we’re looking for:
- 2-3+ years experience as a Heating Engineer
- Strong background in commercial reactive works, servicing and maintenance
- Experience working independently in a mobile engineering role
- Experience with boilers, heaters and oil-fired equipment
- Electrical experience to support isolations and diagnostics
Essential Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 in Heating and Ventilating (or equivalent)
- ACS Commercial Gas qualifications, including:
- Core commercial gas safety (COCN1)
- Relevant commercial appliances and pipework modules
- Changeover qualifications between domestic and commercial gas
- Oil qualifications desirable, but not essential
