MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
- Ensure delivery of goods to EMS branches in accordance with the drivers manifest. Responsible for opening CDC to enable vehicle to be loaded/unloaded and locking up again when ready to start deliveries, disabling and enabling security alarm as necessary.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out daily vehicle checks as directed by VOSA and report defects and nil defects in vehicle defects book for the Inventory and Distribution Supervisor to action.
- Load pallets onto truck in line with manifest delivery details.
- Check loaded weights are compliant with vehicle restrictions and amend manifest accordingly for delivery and returning items.
- Ensure load is securely fastened prior to driving away from CDC/branch with vehicle curtains closed and secured – small items are to be placed in tote bins.
- On arrival at delivery point open vehicle side curtains to allow branch staff to unload truck according to manifest.
- Responsible for ensuring the collection sheet for any goods that are to be collected from branch and returned to CDC is to be completed in line with company processes.
- Walk around vehicle checks to be completed following each delivery to ensure condition of vehicle is the same as when left CDC – any damage to be recorded in the vehicle defect book.
- At end of shift return to CDC, unload pallets on vehicle and place in designated area within the CDC warehouse and ensure all paperwork is placed in Supervisors office.
- Place FLT back on charge if used during shift.
- Ensure vehicle is fully fuelled/charged to sufficient levels for the next day’s operations at the end of each shift.
- Comply with the Company’s requirements in respect of health & safety compliance including the carrying out of risk assessments and the wearing of PPE.
- Any other duties reasonable requested by the branch management that ensures the smooth operation of the CDC.
- Minimum C2 licence required (C1 licence holder advantageous).
- FLT certificate required.
- CPC licence holder.
- Must be able to work to deadlines.
- Ability to demonstrate a friendly and courteous manner towards both internal and external customers.
- Ability to work within a team, on an individual basis and work under pressure.
