About the Role
We’re looking for a newly qualified Management Accountant to join our Accounting team in a high-impact stock and margin role. This position spans the full finance lifecycle, including accounting, reporting, control, budgeting, business partnering, and systems and change. Operating across five inbound distribution centres and supporting nine international markets, you will sit at the heart of supply chain finance. You’ll work closely with freight, inventory and operational teams, providing insight that drives performance and supports key business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Month-End & Reporting
- Take ownership of stock and margin reporting, including preparing and posting period-end journals
- Deliver monthly margin reconciliations for board reporting, with clear, concise commentary on performance vs budget and prior year
- Enhance reporting and analysis to improve visibility of key margin drivers and stock performance
- Analyse stock loss and partner with operational teams to identify and deliver improvements
- Business Partnering
- Build strong, trusted relationships with Freight and Inventory teams, embedding finance into decision-making
- Develop and refine weekly reporting on inbound freight and stock loss to support timely, data-led decisions
- Support budgeting and forecasting cycles, providing insight, challenge and context against prior year performance
- Controls, Risk & Compliance
- Act as the subject matter expert on invoiced versus assumed product cost
- Prepare robust balance sheet reconciliations, proactively managing risk and opportunity within margin
- Play a key role in year-end and audit activity, acting as a key contact for auditors
- Support UK and international statutory and statistical reporting requirements
- Drive continuous improvement in financial controls, systems and processes
- Continuous Improvement & Projects
- Identify and deliver opportunities to automate and streamline finance processes, working closely with the Finance Systems team
- Contribute to key transformation initiatives, including the ongoing overhaul of stock buying processes

- Newly qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong analytical capability with excellent attention to detail
- Proactive and inquisitive, with the confidence to challenge and improve existing processes
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence non-finance teams
- Advanced Excel skills, with experience handling and reconciling large datasets
