The Research Physician will support the successful execution of clinical trials within EMS Healthcare’s Clinical Research Division. This role is crucial in ensuring that clinical trials are conducted in compliance with regulatory, ethical, and sponsor protocols, following Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP). The Research Physician will collaborate with senior staff to ensure trial integrity, participant safety, and adherence to study guidelines. This role offers an opportunity for professional growth in clinical research, providing training, mentorship, and experience in leading trials across community-based research sites.

Requirements- Leadership and Oversight Support the Principal Investigator (PI) team in executing clinical trials, ensuring participant safety, protocol adherence, and data integrity. Act as a Principal Investigator for designated trials under senior PI guidance. Assist with competency checks and staff reviews, ensuring team members are current with required training and certifications.
- Trial Feasibility and Strategy Participate in trial feasibility assessments and protocol reviews, collaborating with sponsors and internal teams to assess site capabilities and study requirements. Contribute to business development by identifying research opportunities and assisting in proposals and business cases. Support the team in reviewing trial costs and contracts.
- Clinical Governance Ensure compliance with ICH-GCP, regulatory and ethical standards, and sponsor protocols. Support internal and external audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews. Stay up to date on the latest clinical trial developments and best practices.
- Support and Mentorship Provide clinical and operational support to Principal Investigators and research teams. Learn and develop as a mentor to guide junior staff and support trial delivery consistency.
- Stakeholder Collaboration Communicate effectively with sponsors, regulatory authorities, and ethics committees to ensure alignment and trial success. Collaborate with internal teams, including the EMS Healthcare Medical Advisory Committee, to improve service delivery.
- Operational Efficiency Help ensure smooth clinical trial operations across community-based research sites, including recruitment and study coordination. Contribute to the development and refinement of EMS Healthcare’s operational protocols and quality systems. Attend Sponsor and client meetings as required.
- Medical Degree with full GMC registration and a license to practice.
- At least 1-3 years of experience in clinical trials or research, with exposure to leadership or mentorship roles.
- Strong understanding of clinical trial operations, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and protocol adherence.
- Familiarity with ICH-GCP guidelines and ethical standards in clinical research.
- Exposure to therapeutic areas such as Obesity, dementia, oncology, and infectious diseases.
- Knowledge of EMS Healthcare’s mobile clinical services or managed service models.
- Interest in pursuing further academic qualifications, such as a MSc, PhD in a relevant field.
- Ability to work in a team and collaborate across departments in a clinical research setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to engage with internal teams, patients, and external stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly in regulatory compliance and data integrity.
- Proficient in clinical trial management systems and electronic data capture platforms.
- Passion for delivering high-quality clinical research services and improving patient outcomes.
- Ability to work autonomously in a field-based role while supporting a multidisciplinary team environment.
- A willingness to engage in continuous learning and development within clinical research.
- Experience of cardiometabolics.
