EMS Healthcare is seeking experienced and enthusiastic Bank Research Nurses to join our Clinical Research team . This flexible role offers the opportunity to work across a variety of community-based research sites, contributing to a range of innovative clinical studies.
You will provide essential support to permanent staff by covering periods of annual leave, sickness, and surge in study activity, helping to ensure smooth and compliant delivery of high-quality research.
Requirements
- Support the delivery of clinical research studies in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), study protocols, and EMS Healthcare’s SOPs.
- Conduct clinical procedures including venepuncture, vital signs, ECGs, sample processing, and administering study medication where appropriate.
- Ensure accurate data and source documentation is recorded in line with study requirements.
- Work collaboratively with site teams to maintain participant safety, dignity, and well-being throughout their research journey.
- Manage study supplies and maintain clinical environments to high standards of cleanliness and compliance.
- Act as an agile member of the wider EMS Healthcare nursing workforce, covering staff absence or increased capacity needs across the region.
- Participate in training and competency assessments to ensure continued clinical and research proficiency.
- Travel to EMS Community research sites as needed.
Experience
- Registered Nurse (NMC PIN) with valid and up-to-date registration
- Experience working in a clinical research environment or willingness to complete relevant training
- Competent in a range of clinical skills including phlebotomy, vital signs, and ECG
- Strong understanding of GCP and research governance
- Excellent communication, organisational and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and flexibly across different sites and teams
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel.
- Previous experience in community-based or mobile clinical research settings
- ILS training
- Experience working on vaccine, observational or commercial trials
Other Requirements
- Full UK residency.
- Able to work remotely and attend occasional in-person meetings or events across the UK as required.
