We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (Band 6 or above) with an Independent Prescribing qualification to join our expanding urgent primary care service. This is an exciting opportunity to work autonomously within a supportive multidisciplinary team, providing same-day assessment, diagnosis and treatment for patients presenting with urgent and undifferentiated conditions. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care while helping reduce unnecessary hospital admissions.
As an Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner, you will:
- Independently assess, diagnose and manage patients presenting with minor illness, minor injuries and urgent care needs.
- Provide same-day face-to-face and telephone consultations.
- Triage patients and determine the most appropriate treatment or referral pathway.
- Independently prescribe medications within your scope of practice.
- Request and interpret appropriate diagnostic investigations.
- Deliver evidence-based care in line with national guidance and clinical best practice.
- Refer patients to secondary care or other healthcare services where appropriate.
- Promote health education, disease prevention and self-management.
- Maintain accurate electronic patient records and clinical documentation.
