About Our Opportunity
Are you passionate about environmental compliance and sustainability? Join our Environmental Regulatory Management Team and play a key role in supporting a business operating within a complex regulatory framework. In this role, you’ll help shape compliant, and sustainable operations by developing and maintaining environmental permits, management systems, and improvement programmes. If you enjoy combining technical expertise with practical problem-solving and want to make a tangible impact, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. This opportunity is a regional role with travel so we are looking for applicants based around the North West, Yorkshire or North East Regions (location is flexible).
What You Will Be Doing
- Prepare Environmental Permit and Discharge Consent applications and variations, collaborating closely with operational teams and regulators.
- Draft, review, and maintain permit-related documentation, including management plans, improvement condition responses, and supporting technical assessments.
- Act as a trusted technical environmental specialist, providing guidance on permit compliance, regulatory interpretation, and best practice.
- Support the maintenance of Environmental Management System (EMS) documentation, ensuring it is robust, proportionate, and aligned with regulatory and business requirements.
- Help sites translate permit requirements and improvement actions into practical, operational controls.
- Contribute to the development of standardised environmental processes, templates, and guidance to strengthen compliance across the business.
About You
- You have experience with environmental permitting, including preparing, reviewing, and managing permit applications, variations, and supporting technical documentation.
- You possess a strong understanding of environmental regulatory frameworks and can apply permit conditions practically within operational environments.
- You have experience developing, reviewing, and maintaining EMS documentation that meets regulatory requirements.
- You’re skilled at managing regulatory improvement actions and conditions, tracking progress, and ensuring timely completion.
- You can interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into clear, practical guidance for site-based teams.
- You are highly organised, able to manage multiple workstreams, prioritise effectively, and deliver high-quality outputs to deadlines.
- You hold relevant qualifications or experience in an environmental field, waste management, or a closely related discipline.
