About our opportunity
We are seeking a reliable and professional Walking Floor Tramper Driver to join our transport operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection and delivery of bulk materials using a Walking Floor trailer while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and customer service.
This is a Tramper position, requiring 4 nights per week away from home, operating across the UK.
What you will be doing
- Operate a Class 1 (C+E) vehicle with a Walking Floor trailer in a safe and professional manner.
- Complete scheduled collections and deliveries in accordance with customer requirements and company procedures.
- Carry out daily vehicle defect checks and report any issues promptly.
- Ensure all loads are secured and transported safely and legally.
- Comply with all Driver Hours, Working Time Directive, and Road Transport regulations.
- Maintain accurate records using digital tachographs and company systems.
- Keep vehicles, trailers, and equipment in a clean and roadworthy condition.
- Follow site-specific health and safety procedures at all customer locations.
- Communicate effectively with the transport team regarding delays, incidents, or operational issues.
- Represent the company professionally when dealing with customers and members of the public.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time.
About you
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence.
- Driver CPC qualification.
- Digital Tachograph Card.
- Good understanding of Driver Hours and Working Time regulations.
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Willingness to spend up to 4 nights per week tramping.
Desirable Requirements
- Previous Walking Floor trailer experience.
- Experience in bulk haulage, recycling, waste, agricultural, or aggregate operations.
