You will play a key role in making the world a better place for the next generation.
The ideal candidate will have experience as a plant fitter, with good knowledge of fixed or mobile plant machinery. Apprenticeship training in construction or agricultural plant maintenance, or being a time-served mechanical fitter, is preferred. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently are essential.
Working hours are Friday to Sunday, 6am to 6pm, totaling 36 hours per week.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Maintain and repair equipment including hydraulic systems, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and treatment machinery
- Perform inspections, servicing, calibrations, and part replacements
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
- Record maintenance activities and document issues
- Respond to urgent breakdowns, including weekend callouts
- Interpret project plans and coordinate installations
- Carry out welding tasks such as MIG and TIG
- Ensure safety standards and high-quality workmanship
- Continuously seek improvements in work processes
About You:
- Recognized apprenticeship, preferably at a higher standard
- Experience with heavy plant machinery is advantageous
- Ability to work independently, managing your workload effectively
- Full UK Driving Licence
