This opportunity will be working a shift pattern of 4 on 4 off, 6.00am-18.30 pm, days only.

As a Maintenance Engineer at EMR Oldbury, you will be part of a team ensuring that the plant is running at an optimum level, minimising downtime and achieving all internal maintenance demands in an effective and timely manner.

What you will be doing: Our maintenance team members are significant to our depots; without their knowledge and experience in reactive and planned maintenance, we could come to a standstill. You could be performing a range of maintenance activities to ensure the plant runs efficiently. Previous experience of working in a heavy industrial environment would be beneficial. Some other duties you would take on are:

  • Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on machinery and services.
  • Operate machinery safely after training, including start-ups and shutdowns.
  • Ensure equipment safety and report malfunctions promptly.
  • Support continuous improvement by liaising with production teams.
  • Complete dynamic risk assessments and address defects.

About you:

  • Time-served Mechanical Fitter/Engineer.
  • Experience in manufacturing or processing industries.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and familiarity with PPM systems.
  • Knowledge of dynamic risk assessments and team briefings.
  • Level 3 apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
  • Welding and fabrication experience required.
