Overview of role:
The role is hybrid with some requirement to attend the UK office and customer site during deployment FAT/SAT and commissioning phases. A major part of this role includes working with Schneider GeoSCADA including database structures, point configuration, templates and mimic design. This role involves a great deal of communication with the client during the implementation of solutions and also after with any queries they may have about the system and any problems they may incur with it.
The Candidate:
The SCADA engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, testing and maintaining SCADA systems.
Responsibilities:
- Implementing, configuring and maintaining remote systems that monitor and control industrial processes – design/construct/test PLC, HMI and SCADA applications to produce/support FDS and test plans
- Review key project requirements for functional, systems and control, develop design docs to support project delivery including – FDS/SDS/ and I/O
- Supporting the PM and site based engineering team deliver defined work packages from the customer ensuring delivery on time and within budget
- Understanding low voltage electrical system drawings
Essential Experience:
- Minimum of three years’ experience delivering solutions in the Utility sector, the Water Industry would be beneficial
- Excellent IT skills, SCADA and control system technology design experience
- Knowledge, background of engineering – control system solutions/automation
- Experience/Understanding of SCADA, PLC’s, RTU’s, HMI and experience in configuration/commissioning – experience across Allen Bradley, Siemens and Mitsubishi a bonus
- Configuration/testing of manufacturers equipment and working with remote SME
- Can interpret technical documentation and provide technical updates
- Familiarisation with configuration and database management, back-ups and documentation management
- Experience of visualisation (mimic) editing and testing
- Experience of working with remote engineers across testing/configurations phases
