As part of EMR’s Transport Division, you will play a key role in ensuring that requests for transport services are captured, accurately recorded and responded to in line with agreed customer requirements. You will be focused on delivering an efficient, cost-effective and high-quality service while continually striving for service excellence.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Representing EMR’s Transport Division professionally and building positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Liaising efficiently with customers and colleagues to resolve any issues or problems that arise.
  • Promoting and ensuring compliance with transport policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Planning, organising and managing the routing of deliveries and collections to meet both business and customer requirements.
  • Proactively identifying opportunities to improve routes and service levels, with a focus on reducing costs and improving customer satisfaction.
  • Supporting the delivery of a safe, efficient and cost-effective transport service.
  • Making informed decisions in a fast-paced environment to ensure operational requirements are met.

You will be an organised and proactive transport professional with previous experience of vehicle routing and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure. You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a strong understanding of transport compliance and operational requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous vehicle routing experience, which is essential.
  • Experience of making quick and effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • A good understanding of EU drivers’ hours regulations and the Working Time Directive.
  • A good understanding of O-licence commitments.
  • Good IT skills.
  • A professional and customer-focused approach, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

The following would be desirable, but are not essential:

  • Transport Manager CPC (OLAT training can be provided where CPC is not held).
  • IOSH Managing Safely, although IOSH Supervising Safely is the minimum requirement.
  • A valid LGV Class C or C+E licence would be beneficial.
