About Our Opportunity: The purpose of this role is to work as a member of the laboratory quality team to generate accurate measurements of infeed and finished goods performance.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Report any issues with regard to health and safety to management.
  • Have a sound and knowledgeable understanding of data management, being able to collate data and produce clear and concise reports.
  • Have a good understanding of materials properties, specifically plastics, metals and minerals.
  • Working as part of a team of Laboratory Technicians, carrying out routine analytical testing to support plant operations, including both products produced by the separation process and analysis of incoming feed material.
  • Analysing daily samples of infeed and outputs from the process to determine composition of materials by hand sorting.
  • Using sieves to determine sizing of materials.
  • Determine target plastic concentrations by density measurement.
  • Analytical testing will also cover XRF to determine metal concentrations, FTIR to determine plastic types.
  • Carrying out in-process sampling to measure process performance and develop improvements to the process.
  • Sampling water treatment process to ensure safety controls are working correctly.
  • Supporting other departments within the scope of the business e.g. Process management, engineering and production.
  • Producing daily sample reports and maintaining records of all samples analysed.

About You:

  • Basic Excel skills required.
  • Experience of analysing material within a lab environment would be an advantage.
