About the Opportunity Every year, EMR recycles millions of tonnes of metal and materials, helping reduce carbon emissions, protect natural resources and create a more sustainable future. Behind every tonne processed is a complex network of shredders, conveyors, separation equipment, process plant and industrial systems. As we continue to invest in our operations across the UK, we're looking for a Project Engineer to help deliver the next generation of engineering projects that keep our business moving. If you're looking for a role where you'll see your ideas become reality, take ownership of projects and develop your career within a growing engineering team, we'd love to hear from you. You'll join our Central Engineering Team, supporting the delivery of capital projects across our UK operations. Working alongside experienced engineers and operational teams, you'll be involved in every stage of the project lifecycle-from developing concepts and layouts through to procurement, installation, commissioning and handover. No two projects are the same. One week you might be developing a new material handling system, the next supporting the installation of processing equipment or commissioning a plant upgrade that improves safety, reliability and performance. As your experience grows, you'll take on increasing responsibility, managing your own projects and becoming a trusted technical lead within the business. What you will be doing Deliver engineering projects from concept through to commissioning. Develop process layouts, equipment specifications and technical documentation. Produce and review 2D and 3D CAD layouts. Work with suppliers to specify, procure and deliver new equipment. Support factory acceptance testing, site installation and commissioning activities. Coordinate contractors and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered safely and efficiently. About You We're interested in engineers who enjoy solving practical problems and delivering real engineering solutions. Experience delivering engineering or capital projects. Mechanical engineering knowledge, with an understanding of industrial plant and equipment. Experience using 2D or 3D CAD software. Strong communication and organisational skills. A practical, hands-on approach with a willingness to travel to sites across the UK when required You'll ideally have experience in one or more of the following industries: recycling and resource recovery, materials handling, quarrying and aggregates, mining and minerals processing, heavy manufacturing, steel and metals, food, chemical or other process industries
