About our opportunity
The automotive industry is going through a period of huge change, as we all continue along the road to net-zero and electric vehicles replace combustion engines. Our ELV teams are vital to ensuring we recover, recycle, reuse and repurpose as many of the materials as possible from the inevitable boom of end-of-life combustion engine cars coming our way, putting them back into the supply chain so they can become the electric vehicles of the future – saving carbon, stopping the need for mining and protecting our planet. As Area ELV Lead at EMR, you’ll be vital in supporting them as they do this.
What you will be doing
Your team will be changing the world from multiple sites across your region – and they’ll all need your support. While they’re doing the heavy lifting, you’ll be looking at best-practice procedures for safety, sustainability and efficiency – communicating these to your colleagues and giving them the tools they need to follow them. You’ll be developing each person in a way that suits their learning style and goals, and working side-by-side with the ELV Area Manager to transform your region into the most effective ELV recycling operation possible. And, sometimes, you’ll need to get stuck in and get some oil under your fingernails, too. If you know your way around an engine, understanding what each component is made from and what that could be transformed into, you can lead your teams in identifying opportunities to save the most possible carbon through reuse and repurposing as well as recycling. Together, we’ll solve tomorrow’s challenges and work towards a circular economy for automotive, leaving an impact that will be felt for generations to come.
About you
We don’t believe in shutting doors on potential, so we don’t ask over the odds for qualifications or experience. We can teach you everything you need to know. What we can’t teach is:
- The competitive spirit that will drive your teams to want to top the EMR ELV leader board every month
- Outside-the-box problem solving
- Mechanical and mathematical competence
- Safety excellence – for you and your teams
If you have these qualities, and a 3.5mt Forklift license, you’re already well on your way to being an incredible Area ELV Lead. We’ll happily fill in the gaps by developing your knowledge, skills and expertise on the job. And we won’t stop training you once you’ve reached peak Area Lead status, because when you work for a global leader in sustainable materials, there is no limit to your career progression.
