We are currently seeking a Temporary Accommodation Officer, who will be responsible for the placement of homeless clients into interim accommodation and the nomination of homeless clients into S193 (stage 2) temporary accommodation.
The ideal Temporary Accommodation Officer will have a duty of ongoing case management of homeless clients in temporary accommodation in relation to tenancy management, rent collection and timely move-on into more permanent accommodation in order to discharge the Council's rehousing duty.
The role of the chosen Temporary Accommodation Officer includes:
- Being out in the community moving customers in and out of our temporary accommodation
- Dealing with any repairs
- Carrying out regular property inspections
- Looking after our temporary accommodation properties in general, and customers during their stay
The successful Temporary Accommodation Officer will have the following:
- Experience with working in the public sector housing field or similar environment
- Experience using CIVICA and JIGSAW systems
- Experience of successfully managing rent accounts and undertaking related enforcement
- Up to date knowledge of Homeless legislation, Landlord and Tenant Law, Housing Act 1996 and Benefit regulations
- Well-developed knowledge of a range of available housing options and support services
- An understanding of and commitment to Equal Opportunities
