We’re supporting a leading UK Defence organisation in the recruitment of a Production Controller to join their Production Control & Planning team. This is a key role ensuring production runs smoothly from order entry through to final dispatch, working closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering teams in a fast-paced, high-precision environment.
The Role
- Managing production jobs through an ERP/MRP system
- Monitoring material availability to ensure production schedules are achievable
- Coordinating kitting and ensuring production readiness
- Working closely with supply chain and stores teams to resolve shortages
- Supporting manufacturing and engineering teams with production issues
- Ensuring customer delivery dates are met
- Contributing to continuous improvement across production processes
- Supporting post-production and order fulfilment activities
What We’re Looking For
- Experience using ERP or MRP systems in a manufacturing environment
- Background in production planning, material control, or supply chain coordination
- Strong understanding of works orders, production scheduling, or job management
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders across operations and engineering
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Desirable:
- Advanced Excel skills (reporting, analysis, KPI tracking)
- Experience in a regulated or high-precision manufacturing environment
