We’re supporting a leading UK Defence organisation in the recruitment of a Production Controller to join their Production Control & Planning team. This is a key role ensuring production runs smoothly from order entry through to final dispatch, working closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering teams in a fast-paced, high-precision environment.

The Role

  • Managing production jobs through an ERP/MRP system
  • Monitoring material availability to ensure production schedules are achievable
  • Coordinating kitting and ensuring production readiness
  • Working closely with supply chain and stores teams to resolve shortages
  • Supporting manufacturing and engineering teams with production issues
  • Ensuring customer delivery dates are met
  • Contributing to continuous improvement across production processes
  • Supporting post-production and order fulfilment activities

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience using ERP or MRP systems in a manufacturing environment
  • Background in production planning, material control, or supply chain coordination
  • Strong understanding of works orders, production scheduling, or job management
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders across operations and engineering
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability

Desirable:

  • Advanced Excel skills (reporting, analysis, KPI tracking)
  • Experience in a regulated or high-precision manufacturing environment
