About the Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Project Scheduler to join a Programmes team, supporting the implementation and oversight of project schedules across multiple defence engineering projects. Reporting to the Programme Director, you will work closely with Project and Programme Managers to define, build, and maintain detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Project Managers to define tasks, timelines, and resource requirements
  • Develop and maintain detailed Microsoft Project schedules including WBS and dependencies
  • Support planning activities during bid stages and project re-baselining
  • Track project progress against plans and budgets, updating schedules accordingly
  • Maintain project KPIs and performance metrics
  • Manage resource requirements across multiple stakeholders
  • Identify risks, opportunities, assumptions, and dependencies within schedules
  • Support mitigation planning and risk forecasting
  • Ensure schedules align with project scope and objectives

Experience required:

  • Experience in project planning and scheduling
  • Strong Microsoft Project (MSP) capability
  • Experience working within project management methodologies, budgeting, and control
  • Experience in resource management
  • Background in engineering or technical environments preferred
  • 2-3 years' experience working across multiple concurrent projects
  • PRINCE2 or PMP desirable
  • Strong communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Highly organised, detail-focused, and adaptable

Security Requirements

Eligibility for UK Security Clearance required, including 5 years' UK residency, current British passport and citizenship.
