We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to support our Sizewell C (SZC) portfolio within the Energy Division. This pivotal role supports the delivery of a new nuclear power station—one of the most complex projects in the UK—directly contributing to the nation’s Net Zero ambitions.
As Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in both people leadership and operational delivery. You will lead and develop a growing team, ensuring wellbeing, capability development, and career progression are aligned with Amentum’s values and standards. You will act as the key interface between the SZC portfolio and central operational and corporate teams, ensuring consistent application of processes, procedures, and governance across the programme. Hybrid working is available; however, weekly attendance at the London office is essential.
Key Responsibilities- Drive recruitment and resourcing, including interviews and candidate selection
- Oversee mobilisation, onboarding, vetting, and offboarding activities
- Lead team capability development, training coordination, and career progression planning
- Support promotions and enable effective line management of seconded team members
- Coordinate team briefs, engagement initiatives, and social activities
- Ensure compliance with Amentum processes and operational procedures
- Act as the primary liaison with the central operational team and corporate functions
- Ensure all activities comply with health, safety, quality, and governance requirements
- Strong background in team leadership, recruitment, and people development, ideally within technical or engineering environments
- Proven ability to collaborate and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strategic thinker with the ability to deliver operational and business objectives
- Sound understanding of financial and commercial aspects of operations management
- Exceptional communication skills, with the confidence to operate in a complex programme environment
