We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Modeler to join a high-impact data modernization program within a global Investment Bank’s CDO office. While the architects define the roadmap, you will be the primary engine driving the Conceptual, Logical, and Physical design of the bank’s new cloud data ecosystem.
Your mission is to decompose complex legacy data from disparate asset classes into a high-performance Data Vault 2.0 structure, ensuring that every trade, risk factor, and counterparty relationship is modeled for maximum agility and auditability.
Key Outcomes & Responsibilities- Domain Modeling: Build and maintain detailed data models across critical IB domains:
- Transactions: Trade capture, lifecycle events, and position management.
- Reference Data: Multi-entity client hierarchies, SSI, and instrument mastering.
- Risk & Finance: Market data curves, collateral netting, and P&L attribution.
- IB Domain Mastery: You must "speak the language" of the trade floor. You understand the data requirements for Equities, Fixed Income, and Derivatives (Over-the-Counter and Exchange Traded).
- The Data Vault Way: Advanced hands-on experience with Data Vault 2.0 methodologies. You know how to handle multi-active satellites, effectivity links, and when to utilize non-historized links.
- Modeling Toolset: Power-user level proficiency in Erwin, ER/Studio, or Hackolade. Experience using these tools to generate DDL for cloud warehouses.
- SQL Mastery: Exceptional SQL skills for data profiling and verifying model integrity against legacy source systems.
- Experience: 7+ years in Data Modeling, with at least 3 years focused on Investment Banking or Capital Markets data.
- Data Vault Proficiency: Proven track record of delivering Data Vault models in a production environment. CDVP2 certification is a significant advantage.
- Precision & Detail: A rigorous approach to data naming conventions, data types, and structural integrity.
- Collaborative Mindset: Ability to partner with Data Engineers to ensure the physical implementation matches the logical intent, and with Business Analysts to validate domain logic.
You won’t just be "fixing" data; you will be the architect of the bank's new source of truth. This role offers the opportunity to work on one of the most complex data puzzles in the financial world—standardizing global asset class data into a unified, scalable cloud vault.
