Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Radio Field Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain high-performance radio communication systems. This role involves hands-on engineering work, RF planning and optimisation, system testing, and close collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring reliable, secure, and compliant communication networks across a variety of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- System Design and Implementation
- Design, develop, and implement radio communication systems in line with project requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate radio solutions into wider technical systems.
- RF Planning and Optimisation
- Conduct RF site surveys to identify optimal locations for communication equipment.
- Perform spectrum analysis and optimise frequency allocation to reduce interference and improve performance.
- Network Configuration and Maintenance
- Configure and maintain radio communication networks, including base stations, antennas, and associated equipment.
- Monitor network performance and carry out routine maintenance.
- Diagnose and resolve faults to maintain system reliability and availability.
- Testing and Evaluation
- Test and evaluate radio communication equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards and technical specifications.
- Develop and execute test plans and procedures for new installations and system upgrades.
- Documentation and Training
- Produce and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system specifications, network diagrams, and configuration records.
- Provide technical documentation and training to end-users and support teams as required.
- Security and Compliance
- Implement appropriate security measures to protect radio communication systems from unauthorised access.
